Things I Write About

It's about that time again. I feel it is necessary to dust off the old journals, break out the classic texts to stimulate my brain, and begin writing again. You can read all of my various musings on my own blog. I won't interfere with my posts of Blake and the family on this site, so you can link up to my blog and read away. The first one is posted. It's a speech I wrote for a football banquet, and you can see the web that is created by being an English major and football coach. More will follow as I mix journals from the past with experiences of the present.

Pics From The Orchard

Annual Trip to the Orchard

Every year we go to the orchard. This year Blake was old enough to enjoy the animal center they had set up. Tons of people were out there. I'll post more pictures of the hayride and Blake's attempt to pick out our pumpkin later.

Laural Lake

Lauren and I spent the 4th with Josh and some of his friends down at Laural Lake. The weather didn't cooperate the whole time but we did have plenty hours of sunshine.

Pics from Vegas

Our Trip To Vegas

We just got back from visiting Nate and Emily out in Las Vegas. We had so much fun. Lauren and I got to go to "Love"at the Mirage on Monday, but we enjoyed just hanging out with Nate and Em the most. Lauren had a conference during the day and I took Blake around the strip. He loved the Bellagio. The flowers in the atrium mesmerized him. The time change took its toll on the little guy as he crashed in his stroller for most of the day. The plane ride was an adventure. We could tell once we walked on the plane the faces of the people where screaming, "Please don't be sitting near me!", but it worked out great as he was the best baby ever, sleeping or playing most of the way. The pics will be on the next post.

The Tongue is Out

Blake has now learned to stick out his tongue. It's cute now, but one day this facial gesture may make us mad.Okay, I don't know if this face could ever make you mad.

Dirty Jobs and A Deadly Catch

A little Miles Davis mural to set the tone of this blog entry. I'm a big fan.

I hope all is well everywhere. I'm watching Dirty Jobs.
I think Lauren's and my favorite channel is the discovery channel. We are pumped about the upcoming season of Deadliest Catch.
If you haven't watched this show it's intense. Here is a video to let you know what it's all about. Let me know what you think.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter! We celebrated by attending Southland in the morning, then going over to Mom and Dad's for lunch. Blake was dressed to the hilt. He is the man. I have uploaded a lot more pictures to our "family pictures". Check them out.

What?

Besides eating his veggies Blake is also learning to roll over on his stomach. Here are a couple of pictures of him after he got on his stomach. He looks surprised.

A Good Night

Just a note to everyone tuning in: Blake is doing well. He started on his vegetables this week. Peas.

What a way to start it right? Probably Lauren's and myself included, least favorite food in the world. Blake seems to love it. As I write Lauren is in bed trying to get rest before an early rise in the morning and Blake is snoozing away underneath his Baby Einstein fish bowl which he now turns on with his feet in the morning and watches like a TV.

He has also got this thing as well and he has learned to turn around in it.

I know that this is some kind of plug, which I think I should be paid for, but Baby Einstein is the bomb!!

More updates later. Goodnight Carolina. Goodnight Las Vegas.

Blake Eats Real Food

I've been out of town for two out of the last three weeks, so updating the blog has been difficult. I missed Blake and Lauren so much while I was gone I even got on my own blog in the hotel just to watch some of the video.

This video is Blake's first attempt at eating real food. It's pretty funny. I don't know what he thought was more fun spitting out the food or rubbing it all over his clothes. Enjoy!

Having trouble with the video so enjoy this new picture of Blake until the technical difficulties can be worked out.

I have been doing a little work to the house. Here is a couple of pictures of the tile I laid in our downstairs bathroom. Three more rooms to go.

I thought these were good pictures of the all the boys:

Even better pictures of all the girls:

Cats - Vols

In case you missed it here are the highlights. Although you North Carolina folk probably don't care to watch, this is for "The Vegas"!!

video

Coming soon: Video of Blake's first attempt with a spoon. Oh, what a mess!!

I have also taken on the task of doing a little home improvement on the house. We are ripping up the flooring in the bathrooms and kitchen and putting down tile. To save a little money the labor is being done by me. I was a little nervous at first because I really didn't want my first time experimenting with this kind of thing to be on my house, but it has turned out really well. I'll take some pictures when it is completely done. All that is left is the grout.

Kentucky vs Vanderbilt

I know this doesn't really have a lot to do with the Johnson family, but Saturday the Cats finally made it feel like the old days. It was exciting to be in Rupp and feel the crowd get into it again. For those that didn't see it here is a taste of what it was like.

Blake's Story

For those of you that don't get to see Blake often the video will take you through his journey thus far. It is amazing how much growing he has done in sixteen weeks.

As I put this together I realized I don't have a picture of Blake with dad!! Someone send me a picture for heaven's sake!!

Dip And Rip

Blake continues to hit milestones. Here he is rolling over for the first time. I think he has great technique. Notice how he dips his shoulder and rips his arm over. Future football player for sure.

video

We are having so much fun watching him do something new and change a little bit everyday. Right now we are trying to get him to say "I Love You". If you listen hard, and translate baby, he says it beautifully!

Family Blog

We hope to fill this blog with information, pictures, and video of life here in Kentucky. That way all the family from North Carolina to Las Vegas will keep up to date with the world that is the Johnson's!
